Crystal Saga Noob

My short review to Crystal Saga, an Mmorpg that you explore the world of Vidalia with friends or by yourself. You begin with the choice between 5 classes  Knight, Rogue, Priest, Ranger, Mage. I for one chose to play a mage which is usually my first choice when multiple classes come available. The thing that I don't quite get about this game is ... what's it about? I searched on the main site http://cs.r2games.com/ but did not get much of an answer.

For a browser based game it's graphics in character modelling, scenery and items are amazing. The scenery is always changing from map to map, making it more amusing to venture to new parts of Vidalia. Town don't look the same and shops are located differently which makes every town unique in its own way. The fact that this game is more then 2D but less then 3D also makes a healthy mix to the mmo genre.

Although I must admit the lack character personalization is a little bit of a turn off. I've run into hundred of characters that resemble my avatar to a T. The only way to differ you character from another is your weapon, and your pet besides that everything is the same. There is a fun aspect of this game and those are the titles that can be obtained through achievements my current one is kill, kill, kill. Another fun feature is the "nobility" ranking, the more main quests you do the higher it becomes, also winning at the battleground will increase your honor which will affect you "nobility" rank.

I've got to say the game play is ... well ... AWES... jk I'm not a fan of it. The game has a boring pace to it, it just seems as if you don't really have a choice to pick what you'll be doing on this game. The quests are easy (for lv 30 and under that's as far as I got) and high in exp but low in coins. If you just want to level quickly questing is what you should do farming is pointless, while you quest you'll come across equips and potions dropped which most equips are sold but potions are good when going AFK. Their of hardly any use while playing the game yourself, because you'll use them more wisely. The music is annoying and gives me a big fat headache, as soon as I log on I turn off the game music and put something more appealing ... in reality it doesn't even have to be game related.

I've been playing this game for 2 days now and have gotten my mage to level 28 with a total exp of 70%. I still do not know what makes this game so popular, maybe it's the fact it's simple and easy for anyone to play. Crystal saga is a nice distraction ... but the fact I have no clue what I'm doing and why I'm doing it, is just a turn off. Now the real question ... will I play it again? Maybe. The reason it's so short is because I've got mixed feelings over this game ... it's just not that good to wasted my time on it, but it's not that bad to not give it another chance.

League of Legends Noob

I've currently started playing LoL (League of Legends) a free Mmorpg (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) for the PC. I've got to admit the fact of me playing Lol was somewhat off putting, it didn't seam like a game I would like very much, and the other fact I was too preoccupied with reading novels on my new Kobo. So after a little peer pressure and the fact my bf downloaded it onto his pc, I gave it a go.

In the tutorial you have the choice to pic between 3 playable characters:
Ryze; the rogue mage, a ranged magic caster (450IP or 260 RP)
Ashe; the frost archer, a ranged carry (450IP or 260 RP)
Garen; the might of Demacia, a melee fighter (1350IP or 585 RP)

I chose Ashe which, I had fun trying out the fact she's ranged and noob friendly makes it both fun and entertaining while I'm still able to learn the basics of lol. I've never tried Ryze nor Garen, and don't really plan to. The thing about the tutorial champions Ryze, Ashe, and Garren is the fact you can not keep them after you chose to take the tutorial. You can purchase them once you acquire enough IP (points earned after playing a match that can last between approximately 15-60 mins) or by RP (points that can be purchased by Riot).

Every Tuesday there are new champions rotated, but instead of doing the smart thing and just trying out champions and finding the one that suits me the best I chose to buy Annie a little girl who captured a shadow bear and trapped it in her teddy. Annie is a very fun, simple champion to play although I didn't like playing her at all at the beginning. If you don't know what you're doing with her, you're well... squishy! A term used for champions with no defenses.

I am currently at level 9 with 4 champions to my name

Annie; the dark child, a ranged mage
Amumu; the sad mummy, a melee tank
Alistar; the Minotaur aka the cow (my personal nickname for him), a melee tank (free on youtube)
Tristana; the megling gunner, a ranged carry (free on FB)

It's a very fun game and I do recommend to give this game at least one try, you never know you might like it.
